Marian is retired after a career in education that included teaching at secondary and post secondary levels, conselling and coordinating programs in social justice at the British Columbia Teachers' Federation. She has just completed a year of volunteering at a teachers' college in the the Northeastern Highlands of Ethiopia. After a visit home to Vancouver, she is preparing to return to a new posting in Addis Ababa as a gender adviser to the Ethiopian Ministry of Education for the next two years.
