Jul 23 2010
Andy Buhler was one of the early CUSO volunteers, serving as a lab technician and trainer in Nigeria from 1969-1971. His work experience, which involved training dispensary assistants and coordinating labs in first the North and then in Southern Nigeria, was punctuated by the Nigerian-Biafra Civil War that was taking place at that time.
Upon return, Andy compiled and published his notes and letters of his experiences into two books called Letters Home. He has since remained a strong CUSO supporter, and is currently helping with the 50Thu Anniversary Advisory Circle and is focused on the "Nancy Drew/Hardy Boys" project which is to locate "missing RV's and put their info into our data base. So if you know the whereabouts of an RV or are one Andy needs your contact info. We're so grateful to Andy for his support and for sharing his story!
